THE DETERMINATION OF THE VERTICAL PROFILE OF THE SPEED OF SOUND IN THE OCEAN WITH USING THE DOPPLER LOCATOR

Abstract
The acoustic Doppler location of the diving passive reflector is examined. Possible errors of measurement in the velocity of sound are evaluated. The influence of the tossing of vessel on the results of measurements can be removed by the certain complication of design. For the Doppler hydro acoustic log in the regime of modulated waves with different frequencies, an error in the determination of the velocity of sound is deliberately more than error in the case of measurements with passive reflector. However, the practical realization of such measurements can substantially more simply.
